Something called Christmas.

There is a bit of excitement in the air at my house. Mummy is shopping a lot - well she always shops - but more than usual and she's all excited and playing about with lots of paper all over the floor. She keeps hiding things, but says they're not for me but for FAMILY - as if I wasn't family!!
Someone asked about Paddy. Well, he's been a bit better lately and not such a pest for Mummy. Though only this morning he would not leave my bottom alone and it is very embarrassing for me. Mummy and Daddy shout - but he won't be told. He sleeps in the kitchen and I sleep in the hall at night. If I slept with him he would lick me to death!!
I've just heard Mummy mention the dreaded word - shower- but it's not me this time - yay!! Paddy is smelly and will be dirty as well when he comes back from duck shooting, so it's his turn - ha ha ha....

Silly Mummy!

Mummy has just informed me that she has deleted my photos off the computer so I'm afraid you will have to wait for them! She has to scan them or something...
I had an exciting time last week - I caught a rat and killed it! Mummy didn't seem to like it but she said good boy anyway so that was good.

Back from Hols!

Well, I'm back from another holiday. I had a great time going to the beach, walking and making new friends.
I did disgrace myself at first with the dog who lives next door - Katie- I took a dislike to her and growled terribly and showed her my lovely white teeth. Mummy shouted at me and Katie growled back and I had to go in my bed for awhile. Then, Mummy took me very gently to Katie and said everything was alright and that Katie just wanted to be friendly. I sniffed a bit and so did she and then we were running around the garden and having great fun together. I made a friend!
I have loads of photos to show you and some videos of me actually swimming!!! Mummy is getting them for me this week - so lots to look forward to.

P.S.

Paddy is going to see the vet tomorrow - about all the howling and running after bitches etc etc...
I hope it won't involve the vet getting too interested in poking and prodding, and I'm glad it's not me this time. Don't tell Paddy I told you, but he actually cocked his leg in the house last week!!! This is the worst thing you can do in a human house, and though Mummy and Daddy shouted a bit, he wasn't punished. Something about old and senile - whatever that means!!
I was out in the truck with Daddy a few days ago and met many humans. You know of course, that I am often admired for my beautiful eyes, soft coat and lovely temperament, but this day was different. I have never been so insulted in my short life! A human, who shall remain nameless, said that I was a lovely girl!!! A girl!! Can he not see that I am a male, and a handsome one?? I really felt like biting him but I know this isn't allowed.
Yes, I am in touch with my feminine side, but this makes me all the more adorable and in no way diminishes my dogginess. I will never understand humans.

Still here...

I haven't written much lately, I know, but things are going well for me. My fur IS starting to grow back ever so slowly. The same can't be said for Paddy who is acting strange in his old age. He's 12, which is 84 in human years, so a little strangeness is to be expected, I guess. He's stopped eating regularly and howls a lot, though he doesn't seem to be in pain. He can't hear a thing and Mummy has to shout really loud to him which scares me as I am a sensitive soul and am easily disturbed.
I'm ashamed to say that this morning Paddy and I had a bit of a set to and were very angry with each other. By the time Mummy came to see what was happening we had forgot all about it - but were still separated! This is to be expected of humans, they don't understand the doggy mind. We instantly forgive and forget and never hold a grudge. Still it's nice to lie in my soft bed and dream the morning away......

Holiday

Have been to another hotel with Mum and Dad. This one was in Wales and very nice too. I was allowed to be in the room! Later on we had a walk to a cottage and, surprise, my little humans were there!!! The next day we all set off to climb a mountain, it was my first and the little humans first as well. We all did very well though it was a bit muddy and difficult near the river.
Back at the hotel I had to have a bath with Mummy!!! I thought she was trying to drown me!!! When we were all clean again we went back to the cottage to have pizza - at least the humans did- I stayed in the car for a rest. My little legs had never walked so much.

Wednesday 5 August 2009

I had a lovely time with Rafferty on Sunday running around the orchard and playing and fighting. But now I have to suffer for it - strange new grass has brought out my allergy and I'm running around scraping my tummy on the carpet to get some relief from the itch!!
Mummy has got some new stuff to put in my food which might help, though I am a bit suspicious of it and keep spitting it out. She says it will be very good for me..hmmm, I don't know...

Birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday! mummy says I am 3 years old which sounds a lot to me and in human years it is 21!! So, a very big birthday - I am an adult now.
My little humans came today, they are staying overnight which is great.

Television

Here's a photo of me enjoying my favourite show - Eastenders. I particularly like the music at the end. Other favourites are Send in the Dogs, the Dog Whisperer and Animals do the funniest things

Friday 24 July 2009

P.S.

I forgot to mention that two lovely bitches arrived at our house yesterday, they were lost and Daddy had to tie them up until someone came to get them. One was a lovely springer spaniel called Mia and the other was a sort of cross-breed called Ebony. Mia was lovely and liked me very much. Then a man in a truck came and they went bounding off without even saying goodbye - they had no manners!!!
Strange things are happening!! My humans are not going out and seem to be happy to laze in bed all day and night! My routine is all over the place and you know how I like my routine...Anyway it's nice to be able to lie on the bed with Mummy and Daddy who seem to be taking more tablets than me...what is going on? When will I get my routine back??

Walkies!!

At the weekend Mummy and Daddy took me to the forest for walkies. I had a great time though I wasn't allowed off the lead because of my enthusiasm for rabbits. I should be able to run free soon as Mummy has got me an identity disc for my collar. As if I would get lost!! I know what I'm doing at all times, they just have no faith in me.
Back to the forest. It is my favourite place with lots of good smells and places to explore. I met two labradors who were very interested in me but their human wouldn't let them play with me. They had to sit and stay while the humans talked a load of nonsense about the forest. Of course I behaved impeccably and stayed by Mummy's side.

Saturday 11 July 2009

Little humans!

My little humans came to play and they stayed all night! I had a lovely time snuggling with them and sharing treats.

Wednesday 8 July 2009

I'm better!

I feel so much better today, no itching and scabs all going. Felt so well that I've been playing football and dragging my blanky all over the lawn. I also found a dentastick in my bed that I'd saved for a rainy day - it was delicious!
Back to football. I really love it and want to bite the ball, but it's too big. Still, I have fun pushing it all around the garden with my nose and trying to stand on it like a circus dog!!

Spots update

P.S. my spots are getting better

Treats!

Mummy bought me a Jumbone yesterday and I loved it. I loved it so much it was gone in 10 minutes but I'm not allowed another until today - roll on treat time!! Of course Mummy has to call it a silly name - sweetie bone - I ask you, I'm sure she thinks I'm a human baby!

Paddy got a Jumbone too but his was much bigger and went in 2 minutes!!

Sometimes Billy the cat has catnip drops which make him roll all over the floor in an unseemly manner. I tried them once - did nothing for me. Mummy calls them cat marijuana - don't know what that means but it amuses the humans and so does Billy when he has a full packet, Humans are easily amused.

Last week I found a lovely rabbit leg that Billy had left under the hedge. I dragged it out on the lawn, rolled on it a bit - this helps the flavour and covers me in a lovely fragrance - and was just about to settle down and eat it when Mummy threw it away!! What a waste of good food!!

Monday 6 July 2009

Itchy!!!!

Last night was unbearable, wherever I sat I was itchy! Mummy has been talking to Daddy about visiting Gordon the vet!!
I had to be wiped with baby wipes - the shame of it - and then another shower! Must say I'm much better today and my skin is not so red and blotchy with spots. I guess this means regular showers...Oh no....

Sunday 5 July 2009

Spots!

My spots are much worse and very itchy. Mummy and Daddy have showered me -(Ughhh) - and given me extra tablets. This is what comes of running through grass in new places. Will I ever get better? Yes, I am feeling sorry for myself. Mummy has made me feel a bit better and distracted me with a lamb bone - yummy. So, all is well...

Friday 3 July 2009

A nice picture of me. Notice the lovely contrast between my fur and the lovely green moss....hmmm, I am handsome even though I say it myself!

I'm still here!

Mummy has been moving stuff around and talking on the phone a lot - she says we are now back online and I can do my blog! Humans!! Hard to understand them most of the time, but I do love them.
So glad it's cooler today, my little body couldn't take anymore panting and trying to find shade. I've also come out in spots on my tummy - Mummy calls them "poorlies" !!! It's all to do with my allergies, I have been running after rabbits again in the long grass so it's my own fault. I guess that means I will have to have a shower which I hate. Daddy has a shower and then shouts "Ready!" and Mummy grabs me and takes me in to him. I have to avert my eyes as Daddy is naked and I am a sensitive soul and easily shocked. It is very embarrassing for me and I hate getting wet!
I do feel better afterwards though and run around the garden, so it's not all bad.

Tuesday 30 June 2009

Hobnob

Just realised that Hobnob, the baby ferret, has not been fed today. Mummy is sad because he has died. Daddy buried him in the garden. It is sad I suppose, but now I get all the attention being the baby in the family!! Must try and look sad.....

More seagulls

Here is a nice photo of me at the hotel. And a video showing how seagulls like to torment me wherever I go - even on a moving boat!!

More holiday photos

Another one of me on the boat from Mull and Iona. I am very interested in the waves.

Hot!!

It's been far too hot today. It's alright for humans they can just take clothes off to keep cool. If only I could unzip my fur...Hmmm
Mummy has been looking after a baby ferret. Feeding it, stroking it, saying how beautiful it is..and ignoring me ! It looks like a rat to me and I'm supposed to kill them. Instead she keeps putting it under my nose and saying stupid things like - "Isn't he lovely - kiss him". I'm very confused over all this.

Sailboat

Mummy likes this photo so I let her post it here.
Hope you enjoyed my holiday snaps?

Jackdaw

Birdies!!!

The Seagull was taunting me, but I was on my lead so couldn't chase him. Then a Jackdaw came and Mummy gave him chips!!

Iona Abbey

Mummy had a look around the Abbey and Daddy and I went to the beach.

Waiting for boat to Iona

After a long ride on a bus - a first for me - we had to get another boat to Iona. This was also a nice trip because the sun came out and everyone was much happier. Feel like a seasoned traveller now, nothing phases me, I lead the way on the boat!

Arriving at the Isle of Mull. Yes, I am on a boat, a big one this time and very noisy with lots of people. I was very good and many people admired me from afar.

My holiday

Waiting for Mum to stop shopping.

Ringo the rabbit

This is the rabbit I am not allowed to chase - he's family!!

Party!!

Had a lovely time at party yesterday with little humans. I did disgrace myself a couple of times as I was too interested in a rabbit. Why all the fuss?? This rabbit was there for the taking - in a cage - just waiting there!! Daddy shouted at me quite a lot - even Mummy did and that's not like her at all.
Then we all went for a walk in a park. More rabbits!! I ran off after one and got told off again! This is my job - don't they know??
Then my little humans threw sticks in the lake for me and I swam a little bit - scary, but I got lots of applause and fuss so I'll try a bit harder next time.
I don't know what happened when we got home later - Mummy and Daddy are sad and angry and there was a lot of mess in the house - strange people came and looked around. I think they are called Police.

Friday 26 June 2009

Rabbits!

Saw lots of rabbits today from the car. My favourite place is on Mummy's knees in the front seat then I can get a good view out the front window.
I'm going to a party tomorrow with my little humans, Mummy calls them grandkids. They are great fun and make a lot of fuss of me and sometimes take me for a walk. I will take my camera with me and take some photos. Oh, and there'll be treats and cake and lots of dishes to lick. This is one of my jobs you see, to clean all the dishes after the humans put them on the floor.
I have another job, to bark at strange humans and then run away.I don't bark at the postman anymore - Mummy says he is a friend and I've got used to him.
Going to bed now - see you next time.

Ears!

What happened to my ears??? on my pup photos they're droopy and now they stick up - when did that happen?

My memoirs.

Ithink it's time to write about my beginnings even though it wasn't long ago.

I was born on a farm not far from where I live now. It was nothing like my home now, which is lovely and comfortable. No, the farm was very rough and so were my parents!!! The humans were also very frightening and I was so glad when my mummy and daddy humans came to get me - it's been luxury all the way since then as you can see from my photos. Yes, I am a very lucky dog.

Lost!

My human mummy couldn't find me this morning - I was in the garden but she couldn't see me. I thought she was angry with me and - ashamed to say it- I cringed in my submissive position - you know- ears back, tummy showing and legs waving about all over the place! How mortifying! She was very nice though and reassured me everything was alright - I love my mummy.

Wednesday 24 June 2009

Vets!!!

Have just returned from the vets - his name is Gordon. It was an unexpected visit as Daddy had only called for my sweetie medication (who do they think they're fooling??!!) and the vet wanted to examine me. Now, I like being stroked and fussed, but Gordon is a bit too inquisitive when it comes to my private bits ... and it hurts!! He seemed pleased with me so there was no poking and prodding this time ....phew!!
I have to see the vet every six months as I have a grass allergy - don't laugh and please no jokes about my short legs and long grass - I've heard them all!! I used to be quite bald on my lower half but Mummy says the fur is growing back and is very pleased with me. I do wish she didn't examine my tummy every day though it makes me want to bite and I know this is not allowed, (don't know why, I'd really enjoy it), so I try to control myself. I am quite disciplined with myself so it is not too bad.

Tuesday 23 June 2009

Paddy & Rafferty

Paddy and Rafferty (our cousin) in the waterfall. As you can see I'm not joining in as I hate to get wet. I did manage to swim two strokes whilst on holiday to fetch sticks out of the lake - what's all that about anyway?? Humans seem to love it! Why don't they just keep the stick, it would save a lot of energy and keep me dry. I am always happy to please though - it's just my nature.
This is Billy. He lives with us as well as Paddy who is a labrador/springer spaniel. They are both old - 12 years old to be exact. Paddy is a bit doddery - is that a word? - not sure but you know what I mean! That doesn't stop him running off to the village after - bitches! Of course, I'm above all that kind of thing and like to keep pure and wholesome - when the humans are watching me!

Beautiful Eyes!!

My mummy says my eyes are my best feature and I'm inclined to agree with her!
Having a lazy day today in the sunshine, chewing my bone - this one's lasted weeks!!
Daddy will take me out in the truck later which I love. We go to the forest where I can chase rabbits - haven't caught one yet but it doesn't stop me .

Saturday 20 June 2009

Home at last!

Unpacking after my holiday will write and post photos later. It's good to be home.

Friday 12 June 2009

Hello!

Hello!
My first blog and my humans are taking me to Scotland tomorrow on holiday -so...after this will not be in touch for a week!
We are going to stay near a big lake. It is a nice lake but I don't like to go in the water and am dreading going in boat!!! I will tell you all about it when I get back.
Holidays also mean I will get more treats and put on weight which is not good as I am already plump - my mummy keeps calling me "little piggy" which is mortifying, but I know she means well so I put up with it.
Anyway that is enough for now, I have to get packing ...food,treats,collar,lead, bed, blanky and the dreaded coat!! See you next week...
Toby
